Meet eight inspirational ladies of non-profits, & delight in their lovely looks.

The Caregiver

"Taking care of Ndume is my greatest joy," says Andrea
of her 350 pound silverback gorilla friend. Ndume is
one of the amazing apes currently living at The Gorilla
Foundation. "My job does have its rough moments, but
I find when you genuinely care about and like what
you do, it doesn't matter."

The Guide

"Ride On is a safe place where there is no judgment — no 'you can't do that' attitude," says Brie, Head Instructor at this horse ranch near LA. Along with her co-worker Tess, Brie teaches riding lessons to individuals with mental and physical disabilities. As Brie puts it, "I get to know them
as people, not the disabled."

The Helper

"It's not just the instructors teaching the riders–
the horses, too, teach the riders patience and responsibility," says Tess, working alongside
Brie at Ride On.

The Supporter

"We strongly believe that we need to directly support the health of our community," says Charity, committee member of the Red Oak Opportunity Foundation (R.O.O.F.). Charity and other members of R.O.O.F. raise funds for organizations like YEAH!, a center for homeless teens in Berkeley, CA.

The Educator

"To see more and more animals able to live in the Santa Monica Bay is just awesome!" says Elyza. As a volunteer for Heal the Bay, Elyza cleans up Santa Monica beaches and educates patrons at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. "We get to teach people why they need to recycle and not use plastic."

The Environmentalist

"I love, love, love the parks," says Holly. As a Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy web content writer, Holly promotes awareness and appreciation for the urban-forest wonderlands. "They are the most democratic space available, as they are free for all to enjoy, no matter what the season!"

The Organizer

"Being Creative Director of the Mission Creek Oakland Music and Arts
Festival is like a giant homework project," says Kiyomi. She spends
much of her free time booking bands, scheduling venues, and writing
grants, all with a "love for Oakland, CA and the local arts community."

The Advocate

"I've always been concerned with the prevalence of autism and the importance of its exposure in the community," says Jenn, of the Pacific Autism Center for Education (PACE). Whether she's playing in a "charity battle" on her roller derby team, or creating an award-winning documentary about PACE, Jenn brings attention to a condition about which we know little.
