Velvet, Velveteen, Velour
Velvet is a luxurious, woven, typically polyester-blend textile with a cut pile. Velveteen is essentially "faux velvet" usually made from cotton. Velour, like velveteen, is typically a cotton-blend textile, one that's quite plush and always knit, most often used in upholstery.

Veneer
Layer of fine or decorative material applied as a finish to a less appealing surface.
Vent
Slash in back of garment, as seen in blazers. Typically in the center or paired at the sides.
