\n ABOUT ME: 5'9" tall (Shout out to the tall ladies!), 36B/28/41, 160 lbs, 35.5" inseam, athletic, toned, shapely build, usually wear size 10\nABOUT THE ARTIST DRESS in size large: (Note: Measuring tape in hand) from shoulder to waist seam=17.5" at longest point & 16" closest to sleeve, from center waist seam to hem=25.5", from center top (not including collar) to hem=43", waist seam 30" total, thin cotton fabric & really wouldn't hang good in the skirt if fabric were much heavier, no lining, shirt tail hem (not high quality details), sleeves are very puffy with wide gap opening like something you'd see Rihanna or Lady GaGa wear, classy ruffle detail from neckline to waist seam, self belt is not substantial enough due to thin fabric, thick threaded belt loops are too big and excess hangs.\nMY RATING & FIT ON MY FRAME: This dress silhouette is a 5, but lost points based on the shirt tail hem, no lining, fabric choice should have been a blend that would prevent wrinkles, sleeves gap out a little too much for my comfort and will have to be altered, & last but certainly not least, description failed to indicate if cotton fabric has been preshrunk - this is important for me to know because I am 5'9" tall, the garment fits, but if I were even a 1/2 inch taller, the length from shoulder to waist would be too short & a deal breaker, so I need to know if this is preshrunk - I can't afford to lose any length with washing.\nI really hope this helps tall ladies decide if they should buy this garment.\n

\n A really wonderful dress! One of my favorites from this site! The belt is fairly cheap looking and personally i think the dress looks better without it. Also..being 5'2 it was a little long on me, so I had it hemmed. The material is on the thin side, but not thin enough to need a slip or anything. But overall a really cute and flattering dress. And as someone said earlier, it looks really cute with a little cropped cardigan! Thanks Modcloth! \n

\n The dress was great except for the cap sleeves. They sat so oddly on my shoulders and I kept trying to pull them down. They seemed to float above my actual shoulder line! The length was okay. The buttons seemed to be sewn on crooked, so that the hearts were all slightly off-kilter. Honestly, I would've kept the dress if I had any sewing ability, as it is super adorable.\n

\n Very cute dress. I ordered a medium but it ended up being really big on top. Did a "quick return" the next morning (call lasted less than 5 minutes) and the new one was sent that day. Sleeves do "float" as one reviewer said and the waist is quite tight. The material is also thin, but being so cute, I love it. The easy return and great service made the purchase even better. \n

\n I love this dress deeply! I'm pretty short, so I'll need to get it hemmed as it falls a little awkwardly past my knees, but once I do it will be perfect. It fits me like a glove and I get tons of compliments whenever I wear it. \n

\n The dress runs small. I normally wear a 1x to 2x and I got the 3x. It fit around the abdomen and was a great length but the bust was a total fail. It so didn't fit across my bust. If your chest is smaller than a DDD cup give it a whirl. It is an adorable dress and I really wish I could keep it but I'm sending it back. \n

\n This dress is perfect for my student teaching coming up! It is below the knee and professional while being fun for the elementary students (cute heart shaped buttons!). I do need to iron it before wearing but that only helps to keep it crisp and professional looking. I am 5'7'' and 140 so I got the medium! It fits like glove. \n This dress is darling, but I altered it quite a bit to fit right and look it's best on me. I don't know that it would have been such a great deal for someone without tailoring skills. \n\nSome said the fabric was surprisingly thin, I don't feel that it is. If the fabric was thicker, the dress would not drape as it should. However, I do think I'll be wearing a slip, as more can be seen of the legs all the way up the dress in strong light than I am comfortable with.\n\nI am a curvy 5'1 1/2 inches. The bodice of the dress did not fit well, the sleeves do stick out in an odd way, the dress was longer than I like for my height and the natural waistline of the dress was not flattering on me. Also, I didn't like the way the belt twistd up to nothing when tied as shown. The thread loops for holding it in place were cheap looking too. \n\nMy solutions: \n\nAdded horizontal darts for the bust - huge improvement! \n\nI cut the bodice from the skirt and removed about two inches from the lower bodice, giving it a more empire waist - more flattering for short legs/torso.\n\nI placed a small dart in the front of each sleeve so they don't look like aircraft wings. \n\nI cut the belt into 3 pieces. The middle third I pinned on the dress and top stitched on as a waistband. The other two end pieces I seamed in the center and tied into a pretty bow. I tacked the bow so it can not untie. Then I attached a safety pin so that I can place it to the front (as shown) off to the side, or leave the bow off entirely if desired. \n\nIn conclusion, a darling dress, was much less work than making the whole from scratch, however if I hadn't known how to alter it as I did I wouldn't have been happy and would have returned the dress.\n

\n Initally I purchased the medium in this dress but I found the bust area and waist to be to big. I did a quick return and got the small in a matter of days. I must be right between sizes because the small is a little snug around the bust but not enough not to keep the dress. I think the fit of the rest of the dress is great and length is perfect.\n
