I must admit, the picture of these shorts don't do them justice. They're so so so comfy, easily matched with everything, and at only $15 dollars, they're a total steal. I understand why someone would be leery of a ruched waist, but trust me, their subtle shininess is great under a long plaid tunic or great for those just-a-bit-too short dresses. And you score your wardrobe some indie cred, as these are made by Kiik, a great little Australian designer. A+!
