Villeneuve Dress
La Belle et la Bête, the first published version of the French fairytale, was written by Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve in 1740. As a wee brunette bookworm who grew up exposed to a bevy of blonde-coiffed princesses, encountering this centuries-old story for the first time was a magical experience for me. Belle, an ambitious, adventurous dreamer who balked at male chauvinism and did things on her own, was a princess to whom I could finally relate! In addition to admiring her fortitude and gumption, I was transfixed by her gorgeous gowns. I thought the day would never come, but I can honestly say that I've finally found a dress that fulfills both my girlhood and grown up fashion fantasies. This sophisticated, shimmering satin dress is a stunning shade of gamboge. It is constructed with a crossover, V-neck bodice and a figure-flattering, yoked waist, which flow into an elegant, swingy skirt. I cannot wait until someone invites me to a fancy party so I can slip on this dream of a dress along with a pair of patent, peep toe pumps and sparkling chandelier earrings. In fact, I might not wait. It's never possible to be too dressed up! -Jennifer, Fashion Writer

The fabric of this dress is just gorgeous, the skirt on the bias twirls beautifully. However, the satin is a little picky and requires some time with the iron. I had to work pretty hard on the neck, and it is still being a little stubborn. I did not have troubles with the bust, I am a 34 D/DD, my main fit problem was the back waist seam. The bodice is a bit long, even with a size small the dress's waist is several inches below mine. Thankfully, that's an easy alteration to fix. It also isn't that forgiving to my undergarments, I can't wear tights with a center seam underneath since it would show. That said, the dress is still beautiful but would not be a good choice for someone who wants a low-maintenance dress.
The color and material of this dress is beautiful. Its also a great length for taller women. However, I am fairly large chested 36D/DD, but the bust still seemed very loose, and I did not fill it out properly. This dress will be a keeper if I decide to have the bust altered.
Wow! This dress is stunning, the color is more gorgeous in person. I think it fits slightly loose but it wears well, I don't have any complaints like the other reviews. I bought 3 of these dresses for my bridesmaids and they all look great in it. The chest is a little big but they are wearing a broach to cover the cleavage, and also pull off the vintage look. All four of us love this dress and I want to buy one for myself now!
