The Gehry Bolero Blouse
This top is named after Frank Gehry. Frank Gehry is a master of incredible design. Therefore, by the law of syllogism, this top is a master of incredible design. They would approve of that kind of theorizing at MIT. What's MIT got to do with it? It's home to Gehry's mind-blowingly awesome Strata Center, which is, in my opinion, the architectural incarnate of this unique bolero. So, where do I see similarities? Everywhere. The variegated ecru, blue, crimson and black stripes of this fine knit are twisted, like the Strata Center, into an unexpected, yet aesthetically astounding form. A diagonal button closure traverses the bust, leading up into the supple curves of a ribbed cowl neck. Bat wing sleeves create a structural outline, and the X shape of the front enhances the curves of the bust. This bolero is built to add interest to the cityscape of any wardrobe. If you're looking for the blueprint to making a great outfit with this sweater, here's what I recommend - place this top on the canvas of a flared monochrome dress or a black tank and pants for a look that, in my experience, will get more compliments than you can count. -Hannah, Fashion Writer

chiming in on the fit issue... I ordered a Medium, and the last button does feel a little snug around the ribs; the area around my ribs is one of the smaller parts of me (I usually wear a S/M or size 6 in tops.) However the rayon fabric is stretchy so it's not really a problem. Also I noticed that there are only larges in stock right now, so unless you are VERY small-boned, I'd say grab a large! I would have already done so if I'd known, but no love lost! It's a great little unique piece that seems quite versatile between seasons. ...one more thing: when I first got it, I (oops) tried it on upside-down, and I think it actually "worked"! lol so, the word "versatile" may apply in more ways than one!
Order a size up. I typically wear Medium, ordered it and it's a bit tight. Love the top but find it hard to wear, mainly because of the way it buttons. For some reason it just doesn't feel right. However, my experience with ModCloth was wonderful.
I love how unique this top is! The first day I wore it I was complemented twice by complete strangers! I did find it on the verge of being too small... I ordered the small, and my ribcage (just under the bust where the shirt hits) is 28" and I was JUST able to do up the bottom button comfortably. I also found that the material falls in less of a cowl neck than it appears on the mannequin.
