I actually just left the positive review on the 13th, but I'm afraid today's events necessitate a revision. I just bought these shoes in mid-June and have worn them perhaps 2 days a week since, at a maximum. Today, the brown flaps opened up on not one but both of the shoes. The flaps are held down by little bendy metal staple-y things which have loosened and detached. I can stick them back in, but it only holds temporarily. One of the shoes fell apart in this way when I was walking down the street with colleagues on my way to a meeting, and I had to remove my shoe at an intersection and try to fix it. It was a bit embarrassing. Without a more secure attachment for the flaps, I'm not sure I'll be able to wear these again. I can get them fixed, but this shouldn't have happened after only 2 months of semi-regular wear. It's a shame, because they are cute and I love them!

These shoes are very comfortable and easy to match with everything since they are classic black AND have a nice brown accent! However, they do take their sweet time breaking in. They weren't an instant classic, and at times felt as if they were too small when I first got them, but after a few days of taking them out for a spin, I loved them and now I wear them all the time. Perhaps maybe I would have ordered a half-size bigger than I normally wear in hindsight, but all good shoes are worth the break in period, aren't they? I always feel so accomplished when the shoes eventually love me as much as I love them... :-)

I ordered one size up as recommended, and it still took time and a couple of blisters to break these in, but now I love them. Having shoes that go with both brown abd black outfits, and allow me to tie the two colors together, AND are suitable for work and play is wonderful.
