Visionary Design Heels
I must have been about fourteen when my family took a trip to Baltimore, but I can't remember why we went there. Our usual trips involved camping by Colorado's Great Sand Dunes or visiting the bayou in Louisiana. Baltimore, in comparison, seemed just too normal. And, it was too normal. So normal, in fact, that I've completely forgotten what we did, with one exception - the American Visionary Art Museum. This museum was bursting with color, intrigue, and aesthetic wonders, much like these heels from Poetic License. I see the similarities everywhere. The rays of stitching that reach up to the scalloped top and the heart-bedecked ribbons that tie the top closed channel the fun, lighthearted feel of the room I saw whose ceiling was covered in a sea of fake red carnations and upside down model white doves. The vibrant Persian indigo suede recalls the colorful mandala that a group of saffron-clad monks were carefully laying out on the third floor. The shiny black patent panel, geometric tapered heel, and cute peep toe evoke the museum's spiraling, innovative architecture. If ever I'm to go back to this museum, I'll wear these heels. For just a visit, I'd pair them with black skinnies, a ruffled blouse, and black patent belt. For an arts gala, these shoes would surely steal the show when worn with a satin dress and shining silver jewelry. Even if I don't return to the museum, I'll wear these shoes around to give my fashion fun flair, and I wouldn't be surprised if a picture of them ends up in a chic gallery, or even NY Times fashion section. - Hannah, Fashion Writer
