Just wanted to make sure that the review is understood as true to size my computer wouldn't let me click t 2 s so it said the coat was very large not true.
I marked this as true to size because the length & sleeves & shoulders are just that. However, it is snug in the bust & torso overall. I am small-chested and got the small; my best friend is medium-to-large-chested and I got her the small; and my co-worker is medium chested and got the large -- we all had the same fit issue. That being said, it hasn't kept any of us from wearing & loving this coat! We are all just kind of letting the torso stretch out a little with wear, but we definitely had to do the "inhale to snap it" initially. For wearing now in a cold winter, I'm layering it under a real outer coat for my commute and also wearing it open at work almost as an over-sized cardigan. The sweatshirt material is a nice medium weight and quite yummy feeling and the pockets are nice and deep so I don't have to worry about my cell phone popping out, even when I sit. Also, I love that the self belt just emerges from the back seams -- it lays nice and flat this way, doesn't twist & doesn't look sloppy when left untied. I really can't wait to wear this out & about on its own once the weather warms up here.
I was surprised that the Medium in this coat fit me tight around the abdomen/waist/hip area since the Spy Trench in Medium fit me like a dream and the measurements are almost the same. I think it's because the material of the coat is like a heavy fleece -- quite warm! -- bulky fitting. I contemplated sizing up to a Large but I think that would have been too large in the chest/arm area. I love the look of it, but what you can't tell from the pic is that the black of the material looks slightly faded (you know, like your old gym sweats gone through the wash). That's what kept me from exchanging to a different size.
