*** BUYER BEWARE *** I just finally got my dress after waiting a week for it. I was really excited and tried it on right away. It fits true to size, however when my boyfriend went to zip up the dress, the invisible zipper on the back got stuck, and then started separating below where it had already zipped. Now, I'm not a large person, this dress fits me great and i didnt have to struggle to get into it or anything, the zipper was just a poor quality zipper. I've been sewing dresses and have worked as a tailor for a while and it is just a really bad zipper. I called the customer service line, very upset and was told I would only be refunded 20% of my purchase! I was obviously extremely upset. That's rediculous that modcloth would sell me an inferior product, and then refuse to refund me when the zipper breaks within 15 minutes of getting it. I'm never purchasing anything from this website ever again.
We're sorry to hear about your disappointment in the Staten Island Dress. I'm sending you an email with some repair/return options.
I'm not sure what everyone's on about, I don't think the colors on mine are muted at all. HOWEVER I will agree that the zipper is totally horrible. Right out of the package I unzipped it all the way and it would not zip back past the waist band no matter how much I cursed at it. It wasn't a matter of the dress being too tight and from what I could see it wasn't a matter of a bent or otherwise obviously faulty zipper either. I'm a little bit stumped. At any rate, after about ten minutes of fussing with it I managed to zip it past the problem area and now plan to never, ever, ever unzip it all the way again. I'll just slip it on over my head I guess. Strange though, I own the Berry Trifle dress as well and the zipper on that works just fine. Bummer.
We want all our customers to receive their new ModCloth items in wearable condition. So, when we hear of a faulty zipper, we rush to remedy the situation. I'll send an email with more information.
This was my first purchase from Mod Cloth and I was very dissapointed with it, to say the least. From the small fit, to the faulty zipper everyone keeps metioning, and the muted colors. The color looks much more vibrant online. Having said that, I will be returning it today. NOT PLEASED!
