I understand that the garment is designed to appear loose and fluid, but my body became terribly lost in the fabric and composition of this dress. The color and fabric were very lovely, but the overall silhouette was just unfavorable on my figure. I returned this dress because it appeared sloppy. This might work for exceptionally thin women, but I am a classic hourglass (36, 28, 37), and this did my shape no favors.
Comfort is the key word with this dress. I loved the look of it on the website but was worried that once I got it out of the box, I'd have trouble figuring out what arm went through which hole. No worries here! Fabric is wonderfully soft, design and cut lovely and breezy... comfortable but with style!
I love the look and feel of this dress. It is sophisticated but has unexpected touches like the hooded collar and gathered sleeves. I wore it over a black tank, leggings and booties and got tons of compliments. It is definitely loose fitting, but that just makes it all the more comfortable. It does have pockets, but the way they are designed it doesn't seem like they would open easily so i just left them sewn. I really feel this dress is seasonless and very versatile, in the spring with pale fishnets and platforms, in the winter over wool tights. Another plus...I am 45 and the dress seems very "age appropriate" to me. Hip and modern, but I don't look like I am trying too hard. I love that there are so many Modcloth items for me!
