Dark Passage Dress
This thrilling, fully-lined Max and Cleo dress seems the quintessential article of film noir clothing - something Lauren Bacall's character Irene would wear while hiding escaped con Vincent Parry, played by Humphrey Bogart. Dress has built in lining, patent leather belt, buttons at nape of neck. Zippers at left side. Top half of dress is sheer.
Great dress. Versatile - great for office or evening. Only negative is that I always wear a 2 in Max & Cleo and ordered accordingly on this one. This dress, however feels a little snug on the bottom and I probably would have been better off with a 4. The fabric is heavier tweed-type and with no slit in the back or side there's not a lot of give. Top fits fine though. If you're bigger on the bottom and smaller on top (like me) you may want to order up a size and have the top altered if necessary.
This a beautiful dress, well constructed, and easily moves from work to dinner wear. It is a bit of a jimmy to get on because it closes by a partial zipper on the side and there is no slit in the skirt to buy you real estate when you slide it over your hips. I found it very flattering, and I'm a size 14 with hourglass proportions.
This dress is so beautiful, elegant and sophisticated all in one!! I was so happy with the quality and the fit was absolutely perfect. I have fairly narrow shoulders and a small chest and wider hips ( 5'4", 114 pounds). I ordered a 4 and it fit perfect. I am very happy with my purchase!
