Quick take: I'm in love with this dress! The print: Five stars It's even more adorable up close! The dots are cute and classic. Also, the (as yet) scientifically impossible green-and-blue roses make me feel as quirky and as cute as if I were wearing something with little purple triceratops on it. Of course, flowers are much prettier and girlier than oddly colored dinosaurs, but the rare, whimsical feeling remains. :-) (I suppose some might call the green roses “cabbages,” but they look distinctly floral to me.) The quality: Five stars The fabric is amazingly soft and seems to be of very high quality. The stitching is well done, as well, except for a few errant threads in the buttonholes that tend to catch on the buttons. The buttons (which are adorable, by the way) seem securely sewn on. The fit: Three stars Unfortunately, here is where I would take off one-half star off the total rating if I could. I am a 34D and usually wear a size ten, so the measurements for the size Large (16.5 inches with about an inch added by bust darts) were about half an inch too small. I was expecting this, and it isn’t ModCloth’s fault but rather an issue with the manufacturer, whether it be lack of demand for larger sizes or lack of understanding that a size 8 is average, not large. :-D At the moment my dress puckers at the busom on me, but I plan to have it let out, and the side seams will allow about half an inch, I think. As for the rest of the garment, the elastic waist is neither too loose nor too tight, and the shoulders and collar fit well on my slim shoulders. The silhouette: Five stars This little frock's gathered waistline is flattering, especially when paired with the Braid in Manhattan Belt and a little silver locket I picked up at Kohl's awhile back. The slim A-line makes me feel breezy and flatters my "bubble butt" but isn't too voluminous--the print is quirky and attention-getting enough, I think, that the bottom half doesn't need to be too big. It would be easy for a high-collared dress like this to look boyish, but the Peter Pan collar and the attractive bust darts make for a cute, feminine shape. I would wear this with a cute pair of solid-colored flats and perhaps some opaque, solid-colored tights to take the look from summer to fall. The bottom line: Four-and-a-half stars If you’re an eight or smaller in US sizes, buy this dress! If you’re a ten, you might still consider it if you have someone who might be able to let it out for you or if you have a smaller bust for your size. Hope this was helpful to someone!

I was so excited when I got this dress! The print is even cuter in person. My one issue is that the sizing is way, way small. I figured that as a 32C with a 27" waist, ordering the dress in a medium would be fine, if not a bit big since it has an elasticized middle. No way. The bodice is REALLY snug and I had to safety pin the fabric in two spots so it wouldn't pucker. I finally sewed a couple subtle stitches to keep the fabric together and you can't see the difference, which is a relief, because this dress is freaking adorable with a cardigan and tights.

i agree with everything Emily says, however, as a smaller size (US size 6 - Aus size 10) with a very small bust, i experienced the same issue as Emily so being smaller doesn't change a thing. i think the issue is with the width of the bodice not the amount of fabric in the front, because it feels quite narrow across even when the buttons are undone. i gave it to my size 2 flatchested sister to try on and it still inferred a slight pucker. having said that, the details of the dress are just lovely, and the fabric and quality is topnotch. it would be possible to wear with the top buttons undone but then you don't get the collar as a feature, which is one of the cutest things about the dress. it is hanging in my wardrobe as a 'if i lose weight or take it to a seamstress' future favourite dress.
