Costume Designer Dress in Drama
I remember opening night of the first show I ever costumed. It was a black tie event, and I wasn't sure what to wear. Would everyone don their finest? Or, would I be out of place in a fancy gown? I didn't know, and to be frank, I didn't even own a black tie-worthy dress. So, I opted to spin the event into a pun, wearing a fitted black tee over a skirt I'd fashioned from ties. But, what if I had wanted to dress to the nines - strove to wear something equally elegant and eye-catching, something subtle, yet intriguing? In that case, I'd have worn this side-zippered dress. I can picture it now - There I am, strolling gracefully into the Agassi Theater. The gunmetal grey fabric hugging my figure like the fine wine they served at the post play reception, smooth and sensual. The stunning pleated details sliding along the sensual V-neck, encircling the torso, and kicking out into playful tucks just below the empire waist, is like the building's architecture, carefully planned and wildly beautiful. After the show, as I savor hors d'oeuvres and make small talk, would anyone be surprised to find out that I was the show's costume designer? Probably not - this incredible dress, with its unique design and unearthly, stylish beauty, would have already made it known. -Hannah, Fashion Writer
