I agree completely with Amber. These are nice and warm for layering over tights for added warmth, yet also just sheer enough that if you're wearing brightly colored tights underneath, when you sit you can just see a hint of that color showing through around the knees. They are wonderful! They stay up well, and are great for layering.
These are the best over-the-knee socks I own. They're thick and durable, they stay up well, and they look good with pretty much everything.
