In the picture, this dress looks fabulous but somehow it still disappointed me. I'm usually a size L and ordered a size L because at the time that was the only one in stock. I was hoping that it really was a little bigger than the size as some reviewers said. It wasn't. I was barely able to get it on me and once it was on, I could barely breathe. I also had a little trouble with the zipper and as someone has said it does get a little bunchy on you. It's an adorable dress, but I looked like a pregnant woman in it - not because I have a huge belly; I'm big boned and curvy but not fat. I wanted to love the dress, I really did but in the end, I realized I won't wear it much and then it won't be worth 67 bucks plus shipping. So I decided to send it back and take my chance. Maybe if I get a little skinnier, I'll try to get a size M or S if it's in stock, but I think this dress won't look perfect even on a skinny girl with a perfect body. Things tend to be overpriced on this website a bit, but I still love the site and its clothes.
Like Justine, I'm glad I ordered a Small (I'm 5'1", with a slightly fuller figure and a C/D chest). The dress does run large. The small fits me like a glove, and I'm usually a M/L. Definitely order at least one size down. Also, the color is much more of a violet/indigo than a navy blue. It's stunning, though! A great dress for late summer into early fall. I bet a little black cardigan will look smashing over this for winter, too.
I got this fabulous dress today and I must say that I'm in love with it! I read the reviews for the this dress in the color green and the reviewers wrote that the fit was big so I choose to go with a small (I am 5'3" and 129 lbs for reference). The waist area is a little large by an inch or so (my waist is 27 inches), but wearing a belt can fix that easily. The top portion is roomy since I wear a size C, and my chest was able to fit into the small without feeling constricted. Also, I love the deep blue color, and the fabric thickness is perfect for the fall! Overall, this was a great buy and I adore how it has that vintage feel, but the style is still modern enough to be fashionable today.
