I've never seen lace patterns that beautifully intricate, the whole dress looks like it sprung out of a magical wonderland turning the one who puts it on into one of its characters. The lace openings in the back and décolleté area create a perfect blend between innocence and sensuality. Also, it's airy, flows nicely around the legs and flatters a pear-shaped body such as mine. On top of that I was pleasantly surprised to find that the underskirt is silky in a creamy tone, which reminds me of 30s glamour starlets. I was so lucky to have seen this among the new arrivals and hurried to get it before it sold out. This was my first buy at ModCloth and I couldn't be happier about it, the shipping and tax fees (to Switzerland) were absolutely worth it and even though I didn't get the chance to wear it yet it has already become my favourite dress ever.
This dress is so lovely and I've received so many compliments from people. The buttons a the front go down quite low (just below my chest) and because I have a large but it looks quite..umm..well not very pleasant! Although it was easily fixed by sowing together between the bottom two buttons. (This did not cause it to pull too tight either). The dress also needed some altering at the sides as it hung too low and showed by bra. But this is possibly cause by it being too large a size and could be remedied by me getting a medium instead of a large. One other thing is that you must wear nude coloured under garments. I have the underwear but unfortunately it's near to impossible for me to find nice bras in my size in a nude colour. So for the time being I'm wearing it with a black bra and a cardigan over the top so try and hide it a bit! But it truly is a lovely and unique dress!
The dress didn't look any good on me, but it IS a wonderful, spirited dress. Often, things of this shade don't work with my yellow undertoned skin, but I thought my roommate [who has a pink undertone to hers] would look fabulous. Correct. She's in love, and I accidentally got her an awesome present. As is everything I've ordered from ModCloth, this dress is comfortable to wear and makes one feel beautiful.
