This skirt is absolutely lovely. The pattern is unique and well-executed, and the construction-quality is excellent. FIT: As some others have said, it is meant to fit high on the natural waist, and it does. The medium fit my 27" waist with just the right amount of cinch-effect (and the high quality construction left me in no fear that the close fit would damage any seams). As the pics show, it hits me right at the bottom of the knee. I am long-waisted so this style of "band at natural waist + gathered below" works for me, but I can see how a short-waisted or more hour-glassy lady might find it unflattering. FABRIC: quality-feeling cotton. I wore the skirt to a nice dinner with a black halter (tucked), a very narrow black belt, shoes in pics, and a black metallic clutch and received several compliments, including a lady who came to our table to ask where I'd found such a "striking" piece! :)

I saw this skirt and just fell in love with it. Super fast shipping as always with ModCloth. Ordered it Monday, got it Thursday. It comes a little wrinkly, but not too bad. Not a problem unless you're a college student like me who doesn't have access to an iron. It fits perfectly though. Like a glove. It hits right at my knee and it's also lined so you don't need to worry about the white fabric being too see-through. I did notice a few loose threads near the zipper, but it's not nearly enough to deter me from keeping it. Can't wait for it to warm up a little so I can wear this wonderful skirt!

I normally wear a size medium or large in most skirts. I'm 5'9 and I have really long legs so I buy for the length and then take them in at the waist. Following the sizing on this skirt I purchased the large. The minute I got it out of the box I could tell it wasn't going to fit. It was extremely small in the waist. When I tried it on, I was able to pull up the zipper but it was so snug it was uncomfortable. And because there was no give it sat really high on my waist causing the gathering to make my rear end look massive and start at my lower back. It took almost a week to receive it and unfortunately the minute I got it it went right back in the box and shipped back.
