Precisely Plaid-matic Skirt

A fab purchase! It looks like I picked it up from a vintage store, but it has all the quality perks of being brand new. I was very impressed with the thickness of the fabric, perfect for fall or winter with wool stockings. It comes up VERY high on the waist, and there is very little wiggle room, but it is very well made. It comes to just an inch above my knees. I wish I had gotten an XL but since I'm planning on slimming down an inch, it should all work out fine. Just and FYI, the flared bottom of the skirt is even, it's not shorter in the middle than the sides, I thought the picture mislead a little bit there.

I really think this skirt is amazing. I was worried that the yellow would be a little offensive as it seemed slightly garish to me in the photo, but it's quite understated and lovely. The fabric is not scratchy, which is great for a heavier skirt. It does hit my calf at a bit of an awkward length for a skirt, a little too long or a little too short, but that's kinda what this is supposed to look like. A little frumpy retro nerdy cool but still put together. If that makes any sense to whoever is reading this. So it goes well. I will say that I weigh 122 and have a 24 inch waist and I ordered a small and it's just sliiiightly too large. Don't get me wrong, it fits fine and it's lovely, but I wish they had an extra small option. So that it could sit really in the center of my natural waist as opposed to just a little low. Anyway, while I pointed a bunch of stuff out, I really love this and have already worn it. Get it if you're on the fence about quality!

First of all this came in literally three days and I'm in Alaska- fastest shipping time EVER thank you so much modcloth! Secondly I LOVE this skirt. It is the perfect lady like length (hitting an inch below my knee) and sits right on the natural waist. It's made of a beautiful authentic looking tartan fabric that is both soft and sturdy, cozy warm and breezy, and the button in the back is SO cute! It is worth noting that I usually wear a medium for skirts but on a hunch I got a large thinking the waist could make or break this skirt- so I would say it's a little small around the waist. Overall this is a very flattering skirt (even for a larger hipped lady like me) that will be a great crossover from summer to autumn and then to winter.
