Love in Literature Skirt

This skirt is really pretty in person and looks like the picture, but I wasn't totally happy with it. Firstly, I originally ordered a S and it was too loose on my waist; it would drop down closer to my hips which is not where I want it to sit. I also thought it looked way too bulky and made my hips and bottom look too wide. I exchanged for an XS. The waist fit perfectly, but the bulkiness was still there and it just did not look flattering. VERY IMPORTANT: the under-lining is not flowy and A-line shaped like the skirt appears to be, it's actually almost pencil-shaped so it was quite tight and actually constricted my movement. I didn't notice this until I got the XS. The S would be have been easier to move around in, but too large in the waist. So, keep this in mind when determining your size. Really wish this skirt worked out because it looks unique and the colors are nice, but I'm going to have to return it.

This skirt is so unique and has a great colour even in person, however what Christina's review said is completely true and I wish I had seen it before I ordered. So far from ModCloth everything I've ordered has been a size medium and they've all worked out well for me. This skirt however is pretty big at the waist, I easily could have gone for a small, especially since I wouldn't wear this skirt with it sitting on my hips. Because of the larger waist it does look somewhat bulky and not that flattering, however with the addition of a thick belt at the top it seems to help with that issue. Also as the other review says the liner is basically an A-line skirt and so I probably couldn't size down even if I wanted to as it would be difficult to move. Its quite a decent length, landing perfectly above my knees if I wear it higher as previously mentioned with the belt. Overall its nice and good quality and I think I'll manage to get some use out of it, just be aware of the sizing issues before ordering.

Different, unique and beautiful. Having lots of fun wearing this skirt, I have not received compliments but many a looking. True to others comments this skirt does run big in the waist and the elastic is sort of bulky as well the comments about the lining running smug.
