Cute to the Core Skirt in Coral

I wanted to wear this skirt at the narrowest point of my waist but as soon as I took it out of the bag, I knew that it was too big. At least 2 inches bigger than my 26in. waist. I guess it runs true to size IF you wear it at a relax fit. I tried that, didn't look bad actually but it wasn't the style I was going for. I pinched the waist at the back and to me, it looks so much better that way. Comes right down to my feet, floor length but it's not like I'm sweeping as I walk. I like the flowy look and the bright color. Looks great if you pair it with a fitted top. I love the chiffon material, although I DO find it to be a bit sheer, but that's nothing that nude undergarments won't be able to fix. I'm gonna sew the waist so it would be wearable to me, totally doable, even if you're just a noobie at sewing. I'm keeping this piece because I have seen and tried on a lot of chiffon maxi skirts, and this has to be the cheapest price with the best quality I've encountered. So If you're a Medium or a Large, size down if you want to wear it at your natural waist. If you're a Small like me, be prepare for some minor alterations (if you want to wear it at your natural waist, that is).

I was so excited for this skirt to arrive, I've been looking for a long skirt for practically forever and this one struck me as soon as I saw it. I kept coming back to it so when it finally came back into stock I leapt for it.... and promptly found myself extremely disappointed when it arrived! I'm of average height but I can't possibly wear this skirt as a full maxi skirt because it's a good several inches too short if I wear it at the narrowest part of my waist - where it appears to sit on the stand in the photo! I was so upset when I realized that the length was just all wrong. Unfortunately living in New Zealand I don't think I can be bothered returning so I'm just going to have to leave it sitting somewhere in my wardrobe I think which is a shame.

The quality of this item is great. My problem is that is it so big. I purchased 2 medium skits (of different styles), the first fit perfect, and this one is pretty darn big. I like my skirts to ride on my waist, along my belly button, which is how it is pictured on the manikin. But this skirt was not only too big to sit on my waist it but still very big on my hips. And please note, I have the kind of hips that were made to make babies, they are wide. I was really disappointed with this items, I just knew it was going to be a great addition to my spring collection. I do not suggest this skirt for curvy girls, maybe it is better for a straight figure.
