Pink Champagne Peep Toe Wedge
Last year, I had an unfortunate experience with one of my most beloved pairs of shoes. They were pink, Italian-made, leather pumps. I found them at a local vintage store in my college town during my sophomore year, and from that day forward, I wore them almost incessantly - to parties, to banquets, even to class. I came to feel as though they symbolized me in some eccentric and uncanny way. You can, then, imagine my distress when, a few years ago on New Year's Eve, during a night of riveting dancing, one of the heels gave out. I am somewhat ashamed to admit that this was devastating to me. Instead of taking them to a cobbler, however, I attempted to repair them myself. The next day, I armed myself with my good friend's tube of gorilla glue and set to work. At first, everything seemed to be working wonderfully. Alas, I did not realize that, when the glue dries, it expands - and expand it did! My poor shoe ended up caked with yellowish, foamy stuff that, try as I might, I could not scrape off. But there's no need to fear, gentle reader - this story ends happily! For just today, I happened upon a box of these dazzling, visually superb peep toe wedges by designer crush Jeffrey Campbell. Their gorgeous, ballet-slipper-pink upper boasts a patent leather finish, while the white-gold detail emits a subtle shimmer. Finally, their incredibly sleek, striking shape is further enhanced by a four inch wedge heel and an oh-so-chic ankle strap. I can't wait to wear these on New Year's Eve, as I sip champagne with my friends and wait for the ball to drop. This time, I'm going to start off the New Year on the right foot! -Jennifer, Fashion Writer
