The Imelda Heel
Having recently moved into a new apartment (as I am sure many of you have experienced), I know that the process requires help and boxes! The Scene - Mountains of boxes tower along the walls of my parent's house, the midway point between my old apartment in Ohio and my new location in the city of Pittsburgh. My help consists mainly of myself and my family, and in particular, my father. During the journey of transporting my goods from Point A to Point B, I pretend to listen while he repeatedly states as he usually does how I "have too much stuff," need to "get rid of at least half of my shoes," and that I might as well be "Imelda Marcos." I do confess that over the years, my closet has become slowly populated with more and more shoes (not quite 3,000), but in my defense, Jeffrey Campbell doesn't make it very easy to be a minimalist! Take this shoe for example - strips of peach patent collide with warm pewter to form a sleek chevron weave from heel to toe. Their low kitten heel and leather construction make these walkable from day to night and durable through the years. In my defense, my dad can't blame me for having a collection of shoes. I'm passing the buck to Jeffrey Campbell! -Julie, Fashion Writer
