Monarch Wingtip Heel

I was so very disappointed by these shoes! :-( They are so gorgeous; however, they are incredibly uncomfortable (after a minute or two of walking around the house in them, my feet are killing me) and they are almost impossible to walk in. The difference in height between the heel and the sole of the shoe is crazy (if I put the heel of the shoe flush against the ground there is a gap between the toe sole and the floor that measures a good half an inch) and it creates an angle, when worn, that just makes me feel like I'm going to fall flat on my face. The toe is also pretty narrow. I would say that they are great in theory, but poor in execution. If the heel were just a wee bit shorter...! Alas, back they go.

This was my New Year shoe and it was a comfortable smash! I should have gotten a 1/2 size bigger, so I could spread my toes or wear thicker tights, but the shoe still fits fine and wears comfortably. It does take a bit of practice to work out your walking gait and there can be some unexpected teetering if you're not careful, but overall the shoes walk very normally. Uphill and downhill walking is to be done carefully, like any other sky scraping shoe. Overall though, what's not to love about this shoe? You get the height you want, with a little boost from the platform. However, where other shoes become more and more uncomfortable over night because they are stiletto and force pressure only to one specific area of your foot; this shoe is far more comfortable because of the thick heal. I think you get a much more well balanced feel from this shoe and the pressure isn't concentrated in any one place. I wore them with opaque burgundy tights, a sleek black cocktail dress and burgundy curtain tassel earrings. The shoes are colorful enough to be the statement in the outfit!

Not particularly comfortable so i wouldn't suggest buying them if you want their purpose to be comfort, they are however BEAUTIFUL. I just wear them to parties that i know ill be able to sit down, i would never wear them out in to the city. Have had heaps of compliments on them. I found they ran true to size.
