Souped-Up Shoe
Although I'm a writer, I actually majored in art history (among some other bits and bobs). So, how did I become a writer? Well, during my studies - oh wait, my personal career trajectory isn't point of the story. We're here to talk about these shoes. Right. So, let's see. Now, I could analyze these creative kicks as my art history degree has taught me to, talking about the use of line seen in the repeating stripes of tomato soup cans, describing the way the sleek shape, with a slightly pointed toe and minuscule wedge, carries the eye through out, discussing the artistic legacy these shoes owe to Warhol's famous silkscreens - but I'm not going to. No, I'm going to talk about how awesome these shoes are. Subtly shiny, perfectly pop-cultured, ravishingly red laced, artfully amusing - these shoes have got it all. They've even got humor. They're made by Jeffrey Campbell, and they reference the iconic Campbell's Soup cans. Get it? Jeffrey Campbell's Soup can shoes! Ah! It's brilliant. I'm not generally one to splurge, but these shoes - something that can dress up dresses and jeans alike - have officially made it onto my list of must-haves. - Hannah, Fashion Writer
