What's also undeniable is that the King's legacy inspired Jeffrey Campbell to create these fanatastic flats. So, when I saw these blue beauties arrive, it was one for the money, two for the show, and three to get ready to go writing about them. I mean they're blue-suede-shoes! How could I possibly resist writing about them? Three of rock's most righteous played a part in the genesis of a song named after this very same style of footwear. First, Johnny Cash planted the idea of a blue suede shoe-wearing airman he met in the military into the head of Carl Perkins, who then reluctantly wrote a song about shoes that later became a tune most famously performed by Elvis Presley. Now, much like the little boogie woogie number became a high-selling hit for the King, you can top the charts of retro fashion when you slip on these lace-ups that combine the crepe sole of creepers with the pointed toe of winklepickers, creating a 1950's Teddy Girl style that any songster would sing praises over.
