On Your Market, Get Set Heel

I could smell this shoe before I took it out of the box. The odor of the glue used in the construction of these boots was so potent and foul that it gave me a headache within 1 minute of opening the box, and was so strong that I could still smell it while the boots were on my feet! I've never experienced anything like it. Although they were cute (yet the stripes are mismatched on each shoe, and one of mine was predominantly green, the other predominantly red)--I couldn't get past the nauseating stench, so back the boots go. The chemical smell and dizzying side-effects aren't worth the price. China has no regulations on materials, and the US has none on imports--so who KNOWS what is in these. Also--80% of what goes next to the skin goes into the bloodstream through the pores, so you bet your buckaroos that your feet are absorbing that toxic, VOC off-gassing. Something to think about! No matter how stylish or pricey, I simply can't support a product that is an obvious hazard to one's health.

Jeffrey Campbell has done it again. These are super cute. The heel is low enough to stomp on NYC sidewalks and they add a pop of unexpected color to any outfit. I usually wear a size 7 but they were sold out so I got a 7.5 and I'm glad I did because I can wear 'em with socks. The canvas-like material is solid and the sole is rubbery for traction. I will get A LOT of wear out of these. I can see them with dresses, skinnies, flare and boot cut jeans and leggings. Super cute! Thanks Modcloth.

I love these. Got them yesterday in the office mail... every one of my co-workers were in love with them, too. They seem very well made and are fun. I wish that they showed WHERE they were made. This is something that, I believe, should be prominently listed with each modcloth item. Right now it says either MADE IN THE USA or IMPORT. I want to know where they are imported from. My preference is always going to be USA but if it's not, i like to make sure i'm not buying sweat-shop items with lead-painted soles. In any case, these are great at first perusal.
