Happy to Be in Boots
A little over a year ago, I was in a car accident that left me with eight broken bones, a punctured liver, and a lot of unhappiness. Two of those fractures happened to be my ankles - yup, both of them at the same time! Walking was impossible for months, and I was heartbroken over the idea that I would likely never again be capable of wearing the skyscraper stilettos I so adored. After some time in a wheel chair, extensive physical therapy, and a sense of determination I didn't know I possessed, I'm walking again - no, not just walking, but also easing back into heels! When I saw these Jeffrey Campbell boots, I knew they were the perfect way to celebrate my return to shoes of stature. Their diagonally stacked wooden heels are the perfect not-too-high height and are comfortably chunky for additional support. But, that's not why I love these boots so much. When I took them out of the box, it was as if a light shone down from the fashionable footwear heavens, illuminating their gorgeous glory. The steel grey leather is buttery soft, the almond-shaped toe is perfectly on-trend, and the dark brown, sueded, perforated-look panel at the ankle is an amazing addition. The chic clincher, however, is the rounded back panel of the high, haute shaft - it's woven with thin strips of grey, navy, cobalt, and plum, intricately creating a delicate southwestern-inspired detail that's elegantly eye-catching. I plan on putting these on to add a posh punch to any ensemble, from tucked-in skinnies, to tights and frocks. These beautiful boots will serve as my stylish symbol of celebration, and a fashionable foray back into hot (but not too high) heels! -Natalie, Fashion Writer
