When and Wear Scarf

It's not a question of where, to paraphrase Doc Brown, it's when. So, when can you don this lightweight, scarf? Anytime. Hand screened with two vintage style watches at either end, this scarf proves that time can be folded and twisted, even if only to adorn your neck. Woven with a naturally hued, fine homespun cotton, you can accessorize any outfit from a cultured 1955 look to one thirty years back into the future. The foot-long width makes it easy to cover your bare shoulders or head, but you... More

I disagree with the reviews. The material says cotton but it is really linen and very stiff. This is not at all soft or flowy to wear. Maybe washing it would do the trick but it seems more like a delicate hand wash or dry clean material. Plus, the screen print looks like it would fade over time. Plus, the color was a very dingy yellowish color...not at all pure white. The scarf also had a funny smell to it when I opened the package. As one scarf lover to another, I wasn't very impressed.

I absolutely LOVE this. I'm so glad to add this interesting piece to my closet. The scarf itself is more of a linen texture, just so you know it's not a heavy winter scarf. The edges have a sweet, small fray and I think the ivory color is a compliment to any possible combination of colors! As with most ModCloth products, this item is way more awesome in person. I couldn't be happier, and I can't wait to wear it!

Hats off to Mod Cloth for super fast shipping - I got this 2 days after ordering! Overall, I really like this scarf. It's not a super soft or buttery fabric like jersey - it's homespun cotton like the description says, but it's also not coarse or stiff (I think). I have sensitive skin that gets irritated by itchy or coarse fabrics, but I was able to wear this for a whole day in 90 degree heat with no discomfort at all. The design is very clear, defined, and prominent, with the great Alice-like vibe another reviewer mentioned. The length is a little shorter than I usually like, but not enough to be annoying - I like wearing it wrapped once around my throat with the ends brought to the front, and it comes to about mid-stomach (I'm 5'4"). And, of course, it's not an item you expect every girl to be wearing - which is why I like it :) The only con is the price for the quality. This isn't a knock against Mod Cloth - I looked at several other online stores and everyone is selling this piece for about the same price, so it's more of an issue with Thomas Paul. Considering the fabric they use, they really should have priced this scarf at $10 to $15 max. The cotton is just a very loose and diaphanous weaving, and not of the best quality. But you're kind of paying for the brand when you get this - and the fabulous design. Still, I'm really happy to have this piece in my wardrobe.
