To be honest, I don't exactly know why I decided to go skydiving. It wasn't as though I felt my life would be incomplete without it. To be honest, I don't exactly know why I decided to go skydiving. It wasn't as though I felt my life would be incomplete without it. In fact, deep down, the thought of hurling myself out of a high up plane probably scared me. Nevertheless, I'd signed up to jump with my college's Skydiving Club. And, before I knew it, I was at the open door of an aircraft, over 13,000 feet in the air, clouds zooming by like a film in fast forward. Jump! I sailed out of the plane, attached to the white-haired, ex-Army paratrooper who was my guide. AHH! Falling, falling, falling, like the little figures on this brassy necklace by Monserat De Lucca. Though I wanted to remember my jump, I wasn't prodigal enough to spring for a video of it. If there had been a necklace like this for sale as a souvenir, however, I would have nabbed it in T-minus zero seconds. Every time I'd fasten its clasp around my black turtleneck top or feminine retro dress, the wind would have kicked up in my face, and the scenery would have begun to race by. The military-inspired planes on either side of this playful piece, and the paratroopers gliding below them, one set solo and hanging from the plane, and the other set holding hands and suspended between the necklace's two bottom chains, would have been a source of vicarious exhilaration, reminding me of that crazy day, and bringing its spirited aura to my outfit. -Hannah, Fashion Writer
