I love this thing. It's true, it's larger than you'd expect, but I was happy about that. It may be a problem if you've got low cabinets, but if you don't this would be the perfect size. I have a dishwasher, so for me this is for the in-between stuff, coffee cups after breakfast, the overflow that is left after the dishwasher is fully loaded, things like that. Quality is very good. The loops that hold the plates can bend a little bit with use, but I don't think that's unreasonable. I'm including a picture to give a reference of the size and what it can hold. In this picture you can see a full size (flat) pizza pan, a cutting board, a colander and a large salad bowl. I'd say it holds enough that if you're only dealing with one person's dishes, it might even be enough for you. Definitely getting my money's worth out of this one.

I would never use this as a dish rack-way too small. However, I did buy it strictly to use as a jewelry holder and it works great! Hang necklaces, rings, use the rungs as stretchy bracelet holders-you can pile it on. Great vintage vibe-couldn't be happier.

What an interesting idea, Nadine--Thanks so much for sharing this with the rest of the ModCommunity. It will surely give our ModLovers something to think about in case they feel the same way in terms of its size :)

Obviously a glorious piece. I wouldn't worry too much about the paint-chipped look that Diana mentioned, since I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like that--if you look closely at the pictures, you can see that the dish rack already has some paint chipped off in them. With that said, mine has suffered a few more chips from just a week or two of regular wear. However, it seems pretty sturdy to me, and I think it will last a while. I have two reservations about the rack. The first is that the base is not quite big enough to fit all of the pots and pans you might use in a single, somewhat involved meal. Maybe I'm just a little too fancy in the kitchen, but I find that I have to dry half my dishes and put them away instead of just letting them all sit in the rack because some of them won't fit. Second, there's really no place to put silverware here. I've been laying it flat across the top hooks, but it often ends up clattering to the ground with a bump or a nudge.
