Bought this hat because I already own that coat and was trying to find something that just wasn't too twee color-wise. Good choice.

I'm something of a hat connoisseur, and one of my favorite hats came from ModCloth a few years back. When I first saw this hat, I thought it was the same hat with hanging ties, so I was willing to shell out 35 dollars for it. Turns out, it is not the same hat ... but it's almost better, and definitely worth the money. It's sturdily made, washable (with care, of course), and extremely good-looking. If, like me, you don't really wear ponytails, the 'ponytail split' can be pulled down lower on your neck; either way, it enhances hat fit and doesn't let in any drafts. The color is a taupe/grey-tan, but almost looks a frosty lavender shade in certain lights. It's an excellent neutral accessory and, as pictured, easily fits with a fuss-free vintagey aesthetic without adding a sloppy vibe. Plus, it easily wears both over and under over-the-head headphones. I love it and am going to snap up another (plus several more to give as gifts?) when it goes on post-winter sale.
