I'm a grad student and was looking for a sophisticated but kind of casual bag for when I teach my first class this summer -- something that could fit my laptops and a lot of papers. This bag is the right size, but when I received it looked cheap, flimsy, and "plastic" (according to a friend). Like Eliza said, it also emits a noxious smell that I could detect from across the room. I have bought much better quality faux leather bags at department stores for similar prices. I'm sad that the photos and reviews were so misleading.

I was excited to find such a well-reviewed, non-leather bag, but when I opened it I couldn't stand the chemical and plastic smell it emits. I don't want to have to worry about the outer layer rubbing away and looking cheap, since globs of the rubberized coating were noticeable. It didn't have the same soft quality it appears to in the photos, and the straps and zipper pulls look especially cheap. I have to return it, and even as a vegan-friendly bag, its certainly not environmentally friendly. It is a great colour and design, but I can't overlook the manufacture. I would rather wait to find a quality vintage leather bag than wait for the smell to go away.

This has been my favorite purchase from ModCloth to date! This bag is so versatile! It comes with an extra strap so you can wear it at your hip or tucked under your arm. It's quite big, but I prefer my bags to be that way. There are so many extra compartments, including one in the top flap. The color is a little lighter than it appears in the photos. Although, the bag isn't leather, the material is quite sturdy. I'd say, overall, it's a HUGE bang for your buck.
