  • Loose fit. Fabric does not provide stretch. Elasticized band at back of waist provides approximately 5 inches of stretch.

Even though the fabric is, yes, a little cheapier than I expected, I think the fit is super flattering, and I'm going to keep it. For the price, it's about right. I'm 5'3" 110 lbs, thin, faint hour glass, and pretty busty (34C). The fit is VERY feminine. Meaning: It accentuates the bust, cinches the waist, and poofs off at the hips. I love it, because some dresses totally diminish my slight figure, and this one works with my curves and makes me feel soft. I can understand, however, how some women might feel "dumpy" in this dress, and I think it's probably only going to work for shorter girls with small frames, hour-glass or slightly pear-shaped. Little, busty girls with little curves. Otherwise, the dress is short and the fabric is plentiful, especially on top, and I could see it getting a little bag-like on the wrong shape. I think it really is one of those dresses--It's not going to work for everyone.

This is my first modcloth purchase. I'm petite and will need the straps shortened, but other than that it's great. I'm between M and L and went with the L, which is the right choice - I'm not sure I believe the waist really has five inches of stretch. The ribbon-belt was of a better quality than I expected, but on me I think it looks better with a wide black leather belt. The color is great - the red is absolutely true to the picture - and it can be easily for everyday or as a flirty party dress. Looking forward to wearing this out! Attached is a picture (prior to alteration, so the top is a bit big) w/ different belt -- I'm super short (4'11") so keep that in mind on length.

Such a disappointment. The fabric is like tissue paper, the back poofs out significantly, and it is shorter than I expected - it hit where the 31" tunic did, so yeah, a little short. It was difficult just to get on - the fabric has very little give, and even unbuttoning the keyhole and unzipping the side zip, it was tricky to get on. Definitely returning.
