The Jenny Hart Dress

I love the sweet heart neckline, the print, and the fabric of this dress, BUT the pockets (which I'm obsessed with on dresses) were made for baby's hands because they're not the standard size by any means, and the length was to the middle of my shin, so I had to get it altered (right at my knee) and I had her fix the pockets as well, which is disappointing considering how much the dress is, but all in all I love it. LOVE IT! It does fit tight in the bust though. The cotton is nice and thick and the pattern is even more beautiful in person. I can see why some have said this is not for busty girls. I think that if you have a larger chest AND you size up AND the difference between your bust and your waist isn't much than you could be all good. If, however, you are busty and have a smaller waist in comparison, you could have problems. I find that it fits perfectly through the waist but is tight on my chest. I am going to let out a bit on the sides to make more room. Also, I couldn't get the halter to work for me. I had to tie it way too tight to get the bodice to sit right but that hurt the back of my neck. The middle of the sweetheart neckline also gapped because of my DDs. So I solved both of these problems by attaching the straps to the back of the dress. I was sad to loose the halter style, but in the end I like it even more. Not to mention now I don't even have to think twice about what bra to wear! I am also going to add a hook and eye at the top of the zipper. I really think that a dress of this price point would have had that already. The only other thing I didn't like was that this dress doesn't come with those side loops on the inside under the armpits so you can hang it up nicely. I thought that was strange. Now that I have changed the straps it has become a non-issue. Measures taken flat for the Medium. Armpit to armpit: 16 1/4". Waist: 15".

I got this dress in the mail today and I so wanted to feel pretty in it. The print is gorgeous and the colors really pop. But the dress simply isn't flattering on me. For reference, I'm 5'4" tall, 118lbs, 34B and I ordered the XS. I agree with the other reviewer who said this dress is perhaps not the best pick for the flat-chested among us. I felt like the my lack of chest was really emphasized, and that the halter needed to be tied so tightly that it was very uncomfortable around my neck. The fabric is a crisp cotton, but it's unlined and although the craftsmanship seems fine, I think the dress is way over-priced. You're really paying for the originality of the print here, and it IS adorable, but the fit had to be spot-on for me to justify the cost, and it just wasn't. Also, the skirt poofed a bit more out than I thought it would, so it's more of an A-line shape. Final Verdict: Cute print, but had to send it back because it's just not meant for my body.
