Sweet Temptation Dress

For the most part I really like this dress. The medium fits just slightly larger in the bust compared to other 33" bust dresses, but is otherwise pretty true to form. I wasn't expecting, from the pictures, that it would have the amount of bows that it does. There are also bows on each of the pockets. It feels a little silly to have that many bows on the dress. Luckily, they can be easily removed with some careful snips of stitches. No major reconstruction needed. Great dress otherwise! One thing I include in all my ModCloth reviews: make sure you know your *dress* measurements and order accordingly. This means knowing your bust, waist, and hip size in INCHES. A lot of people leave reviews like "I'm 5' 7", 115 lbs, with a 34B chest and I ordered a medium and it didn't fit!" That's because you can't go by overall size with ModCloth. ModCloth does not have a uniform size for small, medium, large, etc. This means you have to order according to your measurements. ModCloth measures dresses flat, meaning you need to double the number to get the true size. For example, if the chart says it's a 16" bust, that means it's actually a 32" around. If the waist says 15", it's actually 30" around. And so on. For some dresses you might be a small, and others a large - it just depends on what the dress manufacturer set their measurements at. Learn your measurements ladies, and order accordingly. It will fit perfectly every time.

Beautiful, wonderful, splendiforous dress! And one of like, six Modcloth dresses that don't expose 90% of my upper thigh. Once you zip on this lovely dress, the fit's nice––close to the body, but never clinging or tight. It was perfect in the bust and waist and I loved the fullness of the skirt. But then you tie the ribbon, and all of a sudden, this dress was MADE for you. That said, I did do a bit of dress surgery, mostly to make it more wearable. As much as I love bows (I do!) and buttons (really!), there were just thirteen billion bows on here. I felt a bit like the protagonist of a shojo manga about schoolgirl infatuation and baking. So I snipped off the bows on the straps, and snipped off the decorative pink buttons running down the front. They were sweet, but just a little loose. Which was worrisome. They also kinda limited what colors you could wear with this dress (brown or pink, babe). My blurry, high-contrast pictures seriously don't do it justice. In real life, especially with a purple satin ribbon as a headband, curled hair, and violet peep-toe heels, this dress is pretty stunning while remaining, somehow, pretty casual. LOVE! ♥

This dress is beautiful - I ordered a large, and found it to be slightly large and long for me based on the measurements provided by ModCloth, but because the straps are adjustable and I love longer dresses anyway, it was perfect. A couple things - one of the pink buttons was very poorly sewn causing an ugly crinkle on the left side of the dress, and after my first outing, one of the buttons holding the strap to the dress just snapped right off. Both easily fixable, but for wearing it one time, a little annoying. Just as a note, the dress is unlined, and the pink buttons are a bit satin-y, which works fine for me but might feel cheap to some people.
