I ordered a small because I am 5'2", 126 pounds, 34A, 27 waist, 39 hips (short, curvy, athletic build). The dress has such a lovely design; however, the elastic band barely has any give! I am barely an A cup and I thought my chest would not be able to fit through the opening. I was so afraid of ripping the threads! It was extremely tight around my waist, and made an appearance of "love-handles"! The fabric on the skirt was very itchy and stiff, and very sheer. Also, the top fabric was sewn poorly to the elastic band, so the stripes do not appear straight, no matter how much a tugged and repositioned on the dress. I'm only 5'2", and the dress was SOOO short on me! I can't imagine a taller girl wearing it because of how short it is.

This dress runs very small. I usually wear a size 4 and ordered a large because of the reviews. The large fits me perfectly! I love this dress and got a lot of compliments when I wore it. The only thing that I would mention is that the dark color is more of a black than navy blue. I replaced the belt that came with the dress with a thick black belt and it was really cute! Overall a great dress!

L obviously means small to these people, and I usually fit a medium! Modcloth runs small so I thought I'd go with a large. WOW. I couldn't even get it over my shoulders. Really disappointed. Return.
