Red-y to Dance Dress

Perhaps mine is defective? I loved the dress on 1st site, beautiful fabric/ layers and soft, etc., but there was already a couple loose threads when took it out of the box. The material snags ridiculously easily! Worse, the zipper on mine is an utter pain -- not because the dress is too small, but it is just impossible to pull the zipper up/ down just a short ways down from the top. Thus, getting the dress on/off is pretty much impossible without a dedicated assistant, which i don't often have! Worst is the draped neckline -- see picture -- no matter what i do, mine will not stretch down to cover the different fabric underneath. If i pull it down, it pops right back up. It just doesn't drape, even though rest of dress fits well. It looks pretty unsightly. I suppose i could sew it down, but that seems risky. (Pic looks a bit poofy around arms as i couldn't get it to zip up all the way again, but even zipped, the drapery is truly the same as pictured!) Also, I second the other ladies' notice that it adds lotsa bulk to hips and sits too high on waist -- a right belt would be necessary.

I really wanted to love this dress. First of all, it is very beautifully made. The fabric and lining are lovely and look expensive. I went up a size and ordered a Large based on the sizing recommendation. I really wish I hadn't, as the Large was loose and, combined with the thick fabric and tulle of the skirt, made me look HUGE. I also found, as many other reviewers did, that the waistline hit in the wrong place for me. I think this dress would be perfect for a person with a short torso, as long as it is form fitting. It really is a beautiful dress!

if you have a chest-- this is NOT the dress for you......the material rides up & it become more like an empire waist. Too bad as it's a really nice dress & good quality. oh well!
