Red Like Me Dress

This dress runs large -- I normally wear a medium but it was much too big on me. I reordered a small and it fits perfectly! I LOVE it! The material is heavy so it hangs well and twirls beautifully. Unfortunately, I had to send the small back as well because there was a strange puckering on the left boob that looked like a wayward nipple. I assume this is a defect and that it will be better when I receive the replacement. I'm tall and it hits perfectly just below the knee; you shorter folks will probably need to have the hem altered. The sleeves are kind of poofy and that isn't my preference but everything else about this frock is so wonderful that I can easily overlook it.

I love this dress! It fits me like a glove even though by the numbers I should need a large. I don't find the sleeves poofy - they look much like they do in the picture. The colour is also similar, perhaps a lipstick red rather than a deep crimon, but still a deep blue-tinted red. Lovely heavy swingy fabric. The button is a bit of a disappointment - it is a more scarlet red than the dress, and very shiny and plastic-y. I may replace it with a teardrop or diamond shaped red paste jewel for a more sophisticated look, or a gold rose button I have. The only other thing I see that I don't love is that the washing instructions are 'hand wash only', to which I say bwaa haaa haaa, that would be a nightmare! I have washed it alone on cold/gentle and hung it to dry, and it did not explode - although it did bleed a lot more than I would have expected from a mostly-poly fabric. so toss a dye catcher in there the first time or two, and don't wash it with your whites (duh).

This dress is weird. The sleeves are pouffy and 80's-ish. Love the bust, looks beautiful and the button is super cute. Fits perfectly in the waist. Fabric is nice, but definitely too hot for summer. A winter dress for sure. However, this dress is loooong. Like crazy long. Like Little House on the Prarie long. I felt like Dr. Quinn on a dressed up day. SO much fabric down there. I thought about getting it hemmed, but it was expensive and I felt like even if it were shorter, it was still going to be weird. I felt like I was wearing a costume in my high school play. No thanks.
