Picnic on the Pier Dress

OH. MY. GOODNESS. Where to start with this dress. First of all, this has to be one of the most adorable dresses I've ever seen. Everything about it, from the kitchen blue color to the polka dots to the pearly snap buttons to the 3/4 length sleeves with heart buttons on the sides to the cut out back, is PERFECT. The back is cut just right so that you can wear a regular bra, which is what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, I took a big gamble and ordered the XS, which turned out to be too small. I kinda thought it'd be too small, especially with the warning that the bust runs small, but I thought maybe, just MAYBE, I could make it work with the ruching at the back. Nope. I should have ordered S, but I knew XS would be the first size to go, and I figured I could exchange it for an S or M if necessary...I didn't think all three sizes would be sold out by the time I got it. According to Sugarhill Boutique's website, XS corresponds to a UK 8, not 6, so I thought it might fit. Also, the last time I ordered a dress in a UK 10, it was WAY too big for me. It was a different brand, but the style was similar. I got this dress to zip over my waist (barely), but I couldn't get it to zip at the bust, and it would look too weird even if I could get it zipped. To sum it up, heed the warning of the bust running small and size up if you're even a little busty. ModCloth, if/when this dress goes out of stock, PLEASE get more, or I'll be forced to buy it from another site.

Runs small in the bust is no joke. After reading the reviews, I thought I could get away with ordering my regular size. Wrong. The bust was very, very snug, and there was gaping between the buttons. Also, the waist was snug, not enough to be a problem, but the combination of the too small bust and snug waist was too much. One other thing: my bra was not hidden by the bars on the back, but I could have managed that if the dress fit. I ended up sending this one back which is a shame because the silhouette was adorable, and the material is nice. Please get more in stock, please!

This dress is very cute. The color and design are exactly as pictured with no surprises upon arrival. As others have mentioned the bust area is tight!!! I tried it on without a bra and the fabric was already starting to show tension in the bust area. But I think this can be easily remedied. I feel uncomfortable about the open back anyway so I simply put a light undershirt underneath and leave the buttons by the bust open. I actually bought a size smaller than I usually go and I could still fit in it other than the bust. I'm 5 ft tall and the dress hit me an inch above the knee. The waist line hit right right at the waist and wasn't abnormally high or low. Its a sweet looking dress. The material is heavy but wont be stifling in the summer heat. Very cute design and a flattering color. I'm not sure its worth 90 dollars, but I will be keeping this purchase.
