Lacewing Listening Dress

I loved the detailing on this dress but for 65 dollars the material was some of the cheapest I had ever seen. Sent back went and found something of better quality

I was given this dress as a gift (after putting it on my wishlist!) but was less than thrilled with it...if it weren't a gift, I might have exchanged, but now I'm planning on keeping it. The good things about this dress are that it is unique and feminine-looking and can be styled any number of ways! The downsides for me are: the fabric is extremely thin and very cheap-seeming, as other have mentioned. It also wrinkles easily. The lace at the top is pretty, but it doesn't really match the bottom detail - I thought that part would be lace as well, but it is more of white thread/embroidery. Also, the waist line is very awkward...in the ModCloth photo, it looks really flattering, but in actuality, it is more empire-waisted with a large waistband, so it looks a little off and unshapely. This could be because the dress seems to run a little small in general, so a bigger size might help with this. Last, the keyhole in the back has a lining part that is always poking out into the keyhole and very hard to fix (unless someone else is nice enough to do it for you!) Ultimately, it's not a bad dress, just not great. It is a pretty color and I like the sleeve length and neckline. I will still get some wear out of it, despite the disappointments. #freshphoto
