I'm always a little wary ordering online, since I'm an international customer, am tall, and have an hourglass figure that's hard to size (36-26-42). I'm glad I asked customer service for help, though, because they suggested the 14 UK, and it's actually a pretty good fit. This is one of the first dresses I've ordered from Modcloth that actually sits at my natural waist! The shoulders are a bit loose, but that may be because of the larger size (I was originally going to go for a 12, but that may not have fit as well in the bust). One major downside - I used the USPS First-Class Mail International shipping ($12.72), and while I received it in good time (12 days), I got charged an additional $25 in customs fees when I received the package.

A very pretty dress. The fabric and cut are great. I agree with another reviewer about the sleeves, they are tooo wide. I will be altering them and making them 3/4 length straight sleeves. As with most MC dresses it is too short so I will use the extra fabric from the sleeves to lengthen this dress. Please MC more longer dresses and more high waisted longer skirts.

This was my first time trying to estimate my UK size, and I opted for the 12 instead of the 10 because I was concerned about my waist measurement presenting problems. The fit is flattering and the open v-shaped back is very pretty from behind. I like the boat neck up front. The belt is securely attached on one side, so you shouldn't worry about losing it or having it slip while wearing it. One thing that is important to note is that the bell sleeves are really bell sleeves. The photo doesn't really show the span that they have, which is very generous. I knew there were bell sleeves from the description, but I hadn't expected them to be as fluttery. I am only slightly uncomfortable with this feature of the dress, because I've never owned a garment with bell sleeves. It takes some getting used to, and it works with the rest of the dress.
