Feeling Free-Spirited Dress

From the moment I saw this dress, I "needed" it. I couldn't wait for it to arrive, and everything else waited the moment I saw my (highly anticipated) modcloth box. I really like the style, color, and hemline. Perfect "work to play," "beach to dinner" kind of dress. The hemline is gorgeous, it drapes beautifully. I followed the sizing guidelines and ordered a M--usually I'm somewhere between a M or L. (This is the 3rd Modcloth dress I've purchased, the other 2 have been a Large and fit me.) True to the recommendation, a Med fit me very well. I was tempted to give this dress 5 stars, there is only one reason I didn't. I personally don't like an "unfinished" hemline. The bottom of the dress is styled to be unfinished and fray a little. Many times that idea is a deal-breaker for me. I examined the hemline closely, and saw there was a backup seam line very close to the frayed portion (approx 1/4 inch.) So hopefully fraying will be controlled. I'm going to treat the entire hemline with a fray reducer before wearing--but that's because I'm a little nuts and for some reason this particular thing drives me crazy. It was too lovely to send back, but had it had a finished hemline I would've given it a perfect rating--and I'm pretty stingy with my star ratings.

Love this new dress! It is definitely roomy. I am sometimes a small sometimes a medium with mod cloth dresses...I could have gone down to an xs on this one. I love the comfort of it, though and am so happy i jumped at the chance to get it!! It's a perfect layering piece for winter and will be my go-to dress this summer for sure! LOVE.

This dress was cute, but it's unlined cotton and priced at $70. Ridiculous. I sent it back.
