Dinner By the Dock Dress

This dress is more beautiful than in the photo! Vibrant flowers on the black background - it's an updated vitage type pattern and is glorious in person. Fitwise for me it's perfect - the empire band is snug below my bust and it flows from there to about 3inches above my knees, very flattering. I received it last night and am wearing it to work today with black tights and a fuschia cardigan. I feel amazing in this dress! Thanks ModCloth! Did I mention the pockets?

The XL fits a bit small on my hips - I'll have to wait until the summer (and I lose some weight!) before I can get this one on. But I love it, it's gorgeous in person.

I love this dress so much. When I saw it on the site, I could totally picture it for so many occasions (dinner on the docks being just one)! There was ONE left, AND it was in my size, so I knew that it was fate; this dress and I were meant to be! :) It's lovely for work with a cream cardigan and low black sandals, and it also works for a nice dinner date, with patterned black tights, some patent-leather pumps, and big, chunky bangles. When it arrived, of course I tried it on immediately. It is SO CLOSE to perfect. The pockets (aren't pocket dresses the best??!) don't let the fabric of the dress sit flat on your hips, so it makes it look like your hips are a little bit wider than in real life. However, hourglass figures like mine, fear not, because this draws in your waist and super-accentuates your figure in the best way. My waist looks teeny and my hips and bust also get slimmed because of it. Another thing is that the zipper (elegantly tucked away on the side) doesn't slide easily past the seams, but it isn't difficult if you are nice to it. [The module is being sassy right now so I will just include here that I ordered size M :) ] I wore this dress to an end-of-year banquet for the department, that is me in the middle. I hope you choose to love this dress as I have!
