I LOVE this dress. Probably my favorite purchase from Modcloth so far. The fabric is a light weight, sheer cotton. Almost like a gauze or double cotton gauze. This dress definitely needs to be worn with a slip. The lace is gorgeous and the edges are raw, so this needs to be washed delicately. If you are looking for a more fitted dress however, this dress is not for you. It's very very loose, and flows out and away from the body from the armpits. I really like that shape because it hides the fact that I have no curves, lol. Really, the only problem I have is with the size. I usually get a large (bust = 36 inches), but when the description says "loose" fit, I tend to size down to a medium. Well even at a medium it's too big. I have about an inch of space on each side of my pits. Definitely need a small, and if you have the same bust measurements I recommend this size. There is plenty of room everywhere else as well. Also, I'm very short and this hits me right at the knees. Hope this helps!

I really tried so hard to love this dress. I immediately fell in love when it showed up on the New Arrivals page and it encouraged me to make my first purchase on ModCloth. The dress is sadly a disappointment. The size small it fits me like a tent. When wearing it I look like I just rolled out of bed and didn’t bother to change out of my nightgown. It also makes me look like I’ve gained about fifteen pounds. The cut looks too boxy and is just plain unflattering. I usually enjoy this style of dress, but I just can’t make this one work. Another negative is that the edges haven’t been finished and little strands of cotton string are left behind everywhere I sit. Make sure to zoom in and look at the bottom of the dress! I would also be hesitant to EVER put this in a washing machine. If I add a belt and a cardigan with a pair of pretty, colorful tights it is passable, but I have to ask myself if I really want to spend this kind of money on something that will never look good just being alone. Also, the fabric is so extremely thin. Even though it is fully lined it will always require a slip. (I even think it might look nice with some sort of navy satin slip dress underneath) There are several positives about this dress- it is a lovely neutral shade than can be pared with basically anything. Also, the detail work is absolutely beautiful. Again, I really wish this dress had worked but unfortunately the negatives drastically outweigh the positives and it’ll have to be sent back.

The crochet and lace combination on this natural cotton dress is so perfect. It is one of the most lovely dresses. The one sad thing is that it is very wide. I tried so hard to make it work by using a ribbon belt, and I also tried using a sweater clip on the back to try and cinch it, but it didn't work. The dress still looked really bunched up and wide. Alterations would be too costly since it is lined and has the lovely lace detail. It looks like a romantic, antique type of dress. I am so sad to have to send this one back.
