Comet Allez-Vous Dress

This dress runs HUGE. The standard size chart says I'm a 14. The dress that finally fit me was an 8! The dress itself is gorgeous, the fabric lovely and classy. Be aware that it looks lighter than the picture. The top part of the dress is very flattering. The pleats on the skirt create extra volume around the hips, but I love the cute pockets. The open darts in the rear poof out in an awkward way, but I'm planning to sew them flat. Not a fan of the black exposed zipper, but overall I'm happy with this dress. One more thing: for the first time I was really unhappy with Modcloth customer service. Chatting with the Modstylist, I asked several times for the actual measurements of the garment, since the description says it runs large in the bust. She kept referring me back to the size chart, and recommended I go with a 14. Well, the size chart was 4 sizes too large. I ended up ordering this dress 3 separate times, and since it's for my wedding reception, I couldn't wait for an exchange and had to pay for expedited shipping on top of the re-orders. If Modcloth isn't going to list measurements with each dress, their customer care reps need to be willing to obtain them on request.

A very pretty, well constructed, comfortable, and sexy dress. It is large in the bust area, but nothing that a good quality strapless bra can't fix.

Really wanted this dress, and as it only came in sizes 6 and 10 with prom approaching fast I ordered it in a 6, hoping it would fit. Unfortunately, when I tried it on it was huge in every way. The bodice part was too long on my torso by about 4 inches. I will either have it tailored or I will return it, which is really too bad because the dress is absolutely gorgeous.
