This being my first dress purchase, I was excited. I'm happy with the dress and the color (which, yes, is more of a rust or dark orange). I agree with another reviewer that the buttons aren't the best quality, but they look good. The material seems sturdy, but not as "good" quality as I would expect from the price. The dress stretches to go over your head, but I did hear the stitching give a bit when I first pulled it over my shoulder. Hopefully it'll keep up as time goes on. As for the length, I think it's good and work appropriate (with tights). I'm a but pear shaped, so the dress is *super* comfortable on me, but plays up my big hips a bit.

Many people will point out that it is a short dress, but for someone who is 5'2" it falls a quite a nice length. I think it looks shorter than it actually is, with the waistline being fairly high, but it fell a few inches above my knee, and still below my finger tips if I put my arms down. I don't know if it would be to short to wear to work without leggings, but certainly appropriate for a dinner with the in-laws. However, I will say that the term "tangerine" is a bit misleading. It's still a lovely color, but it's more of a blood orange color (if we're a fan of fruit names). It's just darker than the picture, but I actually preferred that. For less than 50$, and really good quality material, it's a pretty excellent deal!

I purchased this dress already knowing that the dress ran pretty short. I tried in on hoping to be surprised. I love the color and style of the dress, but once i tried it on, I knew that it wasn't going to be work-appropriate. I also was a little underwhelmed with the quality of the buttons. Ultimately, I have decided to return in, but it will not stop me from purchasing clothing from ModCloth in the future!!
