I tend to cringe at spending more than 60 bucks on a dress, but for this one, I splurged. (Note: I was either buying this OR Guest of Honor -- this won!) I was nervous about the netting at the top, but it felt very sturdy when I put it on. The fall of the fabric is adorable on my hourglass frame, which is helped by its starchiness. It hides a bit of pudge at my waistline quite nicely too. My only wish was that the dress was an inch or two longer for a less cutesy look. But hey, we all have to be cutesy sometimes. It didn't hurt that I normally order an XL or 1X on ModCloth -- thanks for the ego boost, dress! (The photo got squished when I rotated it -- the dress is actually quite slimming.) Splurge on this. I did!

It was a perfect fit! The only thing was, I bought it to wear to a wedding, and I didn't feel "wedding-y" enough (totally my fault!). You should buy this dress. I'm an Aussie size 8-10.

I'm not going to lie, when I first took this dress out of the box, I was a bit nervous to try it on. The fabric is a lot thinner, more stretchy and more pajama-like than I anticipated it to be. I was also a bit apprehensive that the skirt would not have enough volume to be flattering on my hourglass frame. When I tried it on, however, I was pleasantly surprised by the way this dress fell on by body. It was really cute! I ended up wearing a crinoline underneath to make the skirt poof out a little more and give it a bit more of a retro-y look. My anxiety over this dress was definitely for nothing, because I ended up wearing it out to a special event the same evening and received a ton of compliments on it by random people who were there.
