Are You Indigo? Dress

Beautiful dress! This was my first modcloth purchase, and I am very happy! (although the price to me was some what expensive for the quality of the dress itself). The color is a very beautiful dark blue, and the flowy top part made me feel very pretty. As suggested by other reviews left here, I decided to get a large just to be on the safe side. It fit like a glove! I looked and felt wonderful at the dance I went to. Just make sure you water steam it before you wear it, and be careful with the material! my purse got stuck on the top part and caused a bit of a pull in the fabric.

I, LOVED this dress. I was worried how the shoulder ruffle would look on me since I'm a little/short girl. It looked great! I was very worried it would cut my body in half, but because it's very sheer and very little fabric, it just flows and adds elegance. Every detail is exactly like the picture! Beautiful blue! Almost a royal blue, but because it is a light material, it's a bit of on the lighter shade of a royal blue. The back side looks amazing, not too low cut and shows the perfect amount of skin. It is the perfect length where it will hide a bra. What I love is you can even unbutton the shoulder ruffle and have it draped more, if you want. It may be heavy, but it adds a different look to it. In the picture showing the back detail, you'll notice the shoulder ruffle kind of sharpens at the end into long corners. It looks kind of great in the picture, but when you get it, it just drapes weird because of how long they kept the ruffle. However, it's manageable, I could probably cut it so it looks straight. The only reason why this was not a 5 was because my dress, the stitching of the top layer was kind of bulky. You can see in the picture of the back, the seam that the zipper is sewn in kind of bulks up. That was the issue for me, but on the sides, so my hips look kind of deformed. I'm debating whether to bring it in to a tailor to smooth out or nobody will notice. Other than that, I love the dress!

I just received this dress today. It is much more fitted through the body then it appears in the photo. The bust fits well but it is too snug and short for me. I will be returning it. The color and fabric however look just like the picture. Just not a good fit for my figure. This is a very body hugging fit.
