I ordered this dress even after reading the bad reviews. I'm glad I did. I wore it to a big event and it was beautiful. The fit is about 2 sizes too big. You definitely need to have curves and a bigger chest to fill out this dress.

According to advice I ordered a size down and it fits me perfectly. I don't like my clothes skin tight and rather have the tailor nip it in a little at the waist, so going down just one size was plenty. I am 5'10" was happy to discover that this dress hits between above knee and mid thigh for me. More than most dresses would do for me, so I'm very happy. I find the dress shape very flattering, especially if you like to look a little more androgynous than you are.

This is my first purchase with Modcloth and I am pleased with the dress. I ordered a size 8 and it did fit on the large side for me, but the length is good for me (hits just above the knee). The fabric is stretchy and light, and there is a lining on the inside. The shinyness of the dress will be perfect for my holiday party. Overall happy with the purchase and look forward to my next :-)
